Distinctions - Club Members Success at the PAGB APM, 27/28 Nov 2021
News of the PAGB Awards for Photographic Merit, including Club Members Success, Newton Abbott, 27/28 Nov 2021
The PAGB normally run their Awards for Photographic Merit (APM) at a different regional federation every six months, and the Western Counties were due to host the event in November 2020. The PAGB continued to hold online and closed adjudications during lockdown and, after a long wait, the Western Counties were pleased to welcome the PAGB and award candidates to the first public adjudication since 2019.
The PAGB ran the adjudication itself, and were ably supported at the venue by an experienced team from the WPCF. Four club members were actively involved behind the scenes as part of the WPCF team - John and Di Tilsley, and Stephen and Helen Jones were responsible for print handling: receiving prints from candidates, sorting them into sequence ready for judging, then sorting them again for return to the candidates. We are pleased to say that the weekend went very smoothly and the WCPF team received positive feedback on the day and via social media.
As well as behind the scenes, club members’ work was being assessed and we are very pleased to report that Jane Tearle and Helen Jones were successful. Congratulations to Jane Tearle CPAGB - Jane was awarded her CPAGB in prints following the adjudication on Saturday (27 Nov 2021). Congratulations also to Helen Jones DPAGB - Helen was awarded her DPAGB in prints following the adjudication on Sunday (28 Nov 2021). You can now see all of Jane and Helen’s successful images in our Distinctions Gallery.
The next PAGB APM will be held in the Midlands in April 2022 - more information at http://www.thepagb.org.uk/awards/apm-awards/
