Report - Triple Challenge, 24 Apr 2023
Report by Stephen Jones on the friendly Triple Challenge Competition with Southampton and Highcliffe & Infinity, 24 April 2023
We returned to Southampton Camera Club for the Triple Challenge, an annual friendly inter-club battle between Southampton, Highcliffe & Infinity and Dorchester. Our previous visit to Southampton for the Triple Challenge was our last club night before the Coronavirus Lockdown.
It was Prints first, with Digital after the break. Dorchester won the print section with 90 points, followed by Southampton and Highcliffe & Infinity (both on 82.5). In the digital images, Dorchester scored 88.5, with Highcliffe & Infinity on 84.5 and Southampton close behind on 83. Overall Dorchester won the 2023 competition with 178.5, ahead of Highcliffe & Infinity (167) and Southampton (165.5).
Well done to Val Brierley with ‘Shadowdance’ and Paul Clarke with ‘They're behind you’, both achieving a top score of 10 in the digital images. Well done also to both members of the Lee household, scoring perfect 10s in the prints - Jane with ‘Blue Tit with Nesting Material’ and Stephen with ‘Red Trees Idaho’.
Congratulations to everyone from Dorchester whose work contributed towards our winning score. Dorchester entered images from 16 members, with prints by Di Tilsley, Helen Jones, Jane Lee, John Tilsley, Peter Yendell, Stephen Jones, Stephen Lee, Susan Buckland, Tim Downton and Tony Gill. Our digital entry came from Val Brierley, Jenny Warr, Helen Gibson, Robert Williams, Jane Tearle, Lisa Bukalders, Lisa Rendall, Paul Clarke, Penny Piddock and Susan Hendrick.
